Where to even start!!!!

I need to say a huge thank you to all of my customers, friends and family for helping me grow these last couple of years!

I knew I loved photography from day one. My dad got me my first SLR when I was 15 and I would bring that camera everywhere! I was the only dork in school that had a backpack and a camera bag going from class to class... just never know when that shot might present itself :)

I did my first wedding when I was 18 and from there the hunger grew. Taking photos for myself wasn't enough anymore.  Being young still I was afraid of kids so I tried to grow my business with my pet photography. This helped me more than I could have ever imagined. It is not what caused my success but was the first step in getting to know new people. It was then I realized making people happy was just as important as getting those great shots.

So from pets to kids I took the plunge and it only grew, I never wanted to say no to anyone, you need something captured I am your girl! Things only have gotten better from there.
Now today I look back at where this all started and I get little butterflies just thinking about the future. I could never explain to anyone what photography means to me and how it has affected my life and others.

There were days I was lost in this world and would wonder what I was doing. What is my purpose and who should I be. It was my camera that made me believe in myself. It was my camera that lead me to my husband and one of the biggest changes in my life to date. All he wants is to see a smile on my face every day… so I told him I need a real studio J and The Basement Studio was born and will be completed Jan 2014!

With all these great things photography has introduced me to, one of the best has been more and more people! My customers might start out as customers but have turned into friendships that can never be replaced. My life has been enriched by each memory I capture because I know behind each photo there was a story, and I was part of it.

I see myself as a little bean that was planted. It took me years to finally emerge from the soil but now that I have there is nothing left to do but grow.  So thank you to anyone that has ever had me as their photographer. I am looking forward to everything the future has to bring because so far it has been an amazing journey.

Stay tuned for more posts as I attempt to actually keep up with my blog, Bella is shaking her head at me now telling me I can’t do it…  This will be a challenge for sure! Wish me luck.
